The Search For Over The Counter (OTC Pink) Triple Zero Stocks Begins
Over The Counter (OTC) [Pink] stocks are a very interest breed of investment. One is unable to purchase--or sell--these unique stocks without the broker's commission ($6.95 for TD Ameritrade). By definition, the OTC stock doesn't provide much of any information to the NASDAQ or other entities. Not only do they refuse to share financial information, a vast majority of the $0.000-trading companies don't even provide a website for nominal information.
Many of the "Trips" stock companies provide grandiose descriptions of "what they do." However, those details are almost always terribly outdated and seemingly bereft of financial upswing. The companies frequently declare that they are in the electronics and/or marijuana business. Sometimes they report to be in the "oil and gas" business; however, these companies sell shares and their "bottom line" never changes.
These companies, in which someone can purchase 100,000 shares or more for less than $20, are really not seriously reported on in the "trades."
So, I have started to write to some of them in an attempt to get information as to why we as investors should pay money...or care.
[Transparency report: As of this typing, I own...160,000 shares of Platinum Studios, Inc. (PDOS), a comic book business of some kind based in the state of California. I purchased these for fun, and as a "vanity" stock. I expect to lose money on this investment, especially seeing that my long-term goal is to own 1 million shares of this company.]
Platinum Studios Inc. has a website. It is short of details as to what the company actually does...and it is outdated. It does operate a Facebook page that posts at least periodically.
I have written to Platinum Studios, Inc. and have messaged its Chairman on Twitter. I have not received any response whatsoever to a mailed letter. He has responded on Twitter, so he does exist. My letter simply introduced myself as an investor and wanted to be added to any mailing list of literature the company might send out.
Recently, I emailed the head of 4 Cable TV International Inc. (CATV) because the company appeared to be interesting. A search on Bing states the company is "permanently closed," and stock market purchases are non-existent; however, it least looks like investors are still able to purchase stocks on their favorite platforms. I haven't tried; however, because I think I would accidently make a purchase.
In addition, I have written to Bayport International, Inc. a diverse company with interests in precious metals as well as marijuana. [Transparency: As of this typing, I own...100,000 shares of Bayport International Inc. (BAYP) because one of their oil and precious metal outfits is located in Franklin County, Western Pennsylvania, not far from my home in Western Pennsylvania.]
Bayport has a crude, but functional website. A short interview from 2018 with its then-president can be easily found online. I've emailed them on their website portal to ask if I can be put on mailing lists and haven't receive any information back.
I will message or even mail other companies as this journey continues. It's a fascinating and intellectual journey that no one seems to have investigated...yet.
